Fundrising project
We love all horses deeply.
In India horses have a special value as we believe they descend from the Gods. In the Vedic tradition, horses symbolize speed, beauty, purity, the expansive power of Brahman, freedom, grace, and strength.
But even when the people love their horses and just want their best, sometimes the circumstances don't allow them to take perfectly care of them. It's our lifelong dream to help these horses and enable them to live a better life. Therefore we started a fundraising project to help carriage horses in Jaipur.
Help for carriage horses in Jaipur
With our fundraising project we improve the conditions for local working horses. In India horses are often used as a carriage horses to transport goods and people. They are the major income for locals, and even when they love their horses, they yet earn too little to properly take care of them. Still people depend on the animals to provide for their families. We don't believe in taking away or buying off the horses. Because it would create new problems and we would take away the only way people can feed their loved ones. Instead we want to improve the life of these horses with food and medicine and with teaching the owner to create a better environment on a long-term basis. Often the horses suffer from wounds by unsuitable or old harnesses and are covered with other injuries that need to be treated. We work with local people in the area of Jaipur.
We are very very pleased that Carina Maiwald, one of the top horse photographers in the world, but more important a very sensitive, emphatic, compassionate and visionary person with a very good heart, decided to help us to collect donations for our fundraising project. Carina visited us in November 2018 to shoot our horses. Loving the character of Marwari horses and touched by the injured horses she has seen while she travelled with us she decided to create a Marwari calendar with some of her best Marwari photos. We can't describe how amazing touched we are!

All profit of this calendar was given to our project!
In 2019 through our donation calendar we were able to collect over 900 € and delivered it personally by Carina Maiwald https://carinamaiwald.com/india-marwari/ during our photo tour.
The money was used to pay doctors to treat horses with wounds or infections, deworm horses and to provide bags of food.
